With many podiums and strong performances in trail and ultra running, Ana Flašker has been training with Arduua and Coach David Garcia for several years, building her success through consistency, smart training and a strong long-term coach-athlete collaboration.
“Having structure and someone behind your goals makes a huge difference. Sometimes it’s about pushing, sometimes it’s about stopping and resting — and learning to trust that.”
That trust has developed over time. Ana describes her relationship with David as a real collaboration:
“It’s good to have a person behind your running goals and make you stop and rest sometimes or put focus on different things. He is really involved into my training. I think we collaborate really well.”
Her journey has included strong races and podium finishes, but also setbacks — including surgery, stomach problems and periods when training and race plans had to be adapted. Through it all, consistency and flexibility have remained central to her development.
For Ana, structured coaching doesn’t necessarily mean more kilometres or harder training. It means balancing running, cycling and strength work, knowing when to push and when to recover, and learning from every training block and race.
As she puts it:
“More km doesn’t always mean better output.”
Ana continues to take on longer and more demanding mountain challenges, while keeping one principle at the centre of her training: enjoying the process.
